The award-winning EXR joins BSI-CMOS sensor to deliver revolutionary improvements
High sensitivity
With the design of a conventional sensor, the light must pass through a layer of electronic circuits before reaching the photodiodes, which reduces the amount of light striking the sensor. In contrast, the BSI sensor (with backlight), is investing layers of circuits and photodiodes in order to improve sensitivity, an advantage that is especially noticeable when shooting in low light.
High speed
With the newly developed processor EXR and BSI CMOS sensor, an ultra fast transfer circuit facilitates fast processing and reading of files. The real advantage of this lies in the high-speed shooting and recording full HD video. Read the rest of this entry »

Mr. Stringer , remember, Apple alluded to in an interview to The Wall Street Journal , regretting not being able to cope with the demand required by the sensors of Cupertino. The earthquake on day 11 was responsible, having disabled one of its plants.
Everyone started to assume that OmniVision , Apple’s current photographic supplies, would be helpless result of this new agreement.
The analyst Yair Reiner of Oppenheimer & Co. , is not of the same opinion, his contacts with the Apple supply chain have revealed that the link between the two companies remains as tight as ever and almost certainly produce OmniVision Camera the iPhone 5 .
Reiner also said the interview, noting that at one point in the same Stringer makes a joke mocking one of the attendants, who carries an iPad, so that further mention of Apple could be pure sarcasm all others have interpreted information as bait.
From the paper also point out that at no time Stringer said the iPhone 5 in his sentence, what would be true that Sony is producing sensors for Apple, perhaps they are destined for another product.
