Only from the top of my head, I can think a dozen reasons to own an Internet business. Here are half a dozen reasons to start with:

The Internet is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. For this reason alone you are not limited to working at the traditional 9:00 to 5 pm from the usual business. This allows you the flexibility to work when it suits your schedule. You still need to make plans together when you’re going to work and stick to, but you can choose the best time of day to work on your business. If you enjoy bringing your children to school and pick them up at the end of the day and then work from 9:00 to 15:00. Or maybe you are at your sharpest during the evening hours. Just schedule your job to the time of day when you are most productive.

On top of technology these flexible work hours allow internet business owners to move outside the office to work online. Laptops can be taken anywhere with an internet connection. Even a new cell phone can go online from anywhere. I personally have been running my internet business from a hotel balcony in Maui for a week.

2 – An Internet business offers a great opportunity to leverage.
When starting any business is that most start with more time than money. Most successful businesses have a plan to reinvest profits back into the business of business to accelerate growth. Often this reinvestment allows the owner to reduce the time spent in the business while growing the business. This is what leverage is all about. An Internet business can provide leverage in the form of more time or more money. Great thing about an internet business reinvestment can occur quickly due to the low start up costs.

3 – Low overhead costs
When comparing an internet business for a traditional offline business you will see that internet businesses usually does NOT require a large capital investment to get started. This is for the simple reason that to start and run a home based internet business you do not need to invest in inventory, office space, equipment or employees. You can even sell products online without any touching, packaging, or shipping them. Try that in a traditional store!

All you usually need to start an internet business is your own domain name, web hosting accounts and ‘autoresponders’ (an email program that can collect names and email addresses). These fees usually add up to less than $ 100 per month. There is no way you can even get office space rent is low, let alone the cost of heating.

4 – What choice do I have to sell online are limitless.
Choice of what to sell in the online world is now only limited by your imagination. No matter what you decide to target market your business, you can sell something to them online. You can sell and ship a physical book, or even digital ebooks. You can sell the software, equipment, training, or even simply provide information about your blog and sell ads on your blog. The sky is the limit when it comes to how to generate online revenue.

5 – Personal Satisfaction
By having more choice about what to sell or how to generate revenue with your online business will generate more personal satisfaction in your life. Launch an Internet business in a topic or niche that you like allows you to do what you love. If you love to play hockey, for example, there are many ways you can build a business around marketing tools and “how to” information to other people who like to play hockey! This allows you to help others, have fun and make money doing what you love. Could not be better than that!

6 – Once you know you can make some business
When doing business online there is no limit on the number of internet business you can have. This is especially true in information-based marketing business. If we return to our example of information about the hockey business, after you get your business up and running you can easily duplicate that business model is another passion that you have. All traffic generation, sales process, delivery of the product that you create for the first business can be replicated and repeated more quickly to your second business.
